HWSA Tournament Game 1 - April 15

Regional Homeschool World Series Association
NOAH Varsity win first round game.

Game 1
#12 NOAH 13 vs. #5 San Antonio Patriots 3

We had a pitching duel with both pitchers and teams doing a great job. The Patriots finally scored to take the lead 2-0 in the bottom of the 5th inning after a 2 RBI triple. The Patriots pitcher finally started tiring in the top of the 6th after striking out 13 out of 15 of the 1st five inning outs. Trey Weaver lead off the inning with a walk. Parker McDaniel followed with a single. The next two Jaguars walked bringing in one run to score. Sam Brownwood came up to bat with bases loaded and put the Jags ahead 3-2 with a 2 RBI single. John Tyree walked then Andrew Smith hit an RBI single off the new Patriot pitcher. Trey Weaver batted for the 2nd time in the inning and reached on an error and tallied an RBI. Parker McDaniel followed with an RBI double and then a nice RBI triple to the wall by Joe Sabatini. The inning ended with the Jags ahead 9-2. Jags added 4 more runs in the top of the 7th. Sam Brownwood reached on an error and later scored on John Tyree's at bat. Justin Leekley and Avery Penrod (2 RBIs) each hit a double in the inning while Trey Weaver added an RBI single. The Patriots were able to add only one run in the bottom of the 7th. Every Jaguar batter scored and 9 out of 10 Jaguars in the game had an RBI!

Winning pitcher: Andrew Smith 5 innings, 2 earned runs, 5 hits (1 double, 1 triple), 7 strike outs
Reliever: Sam Brownwood 2 innings, 1 unearned run, 1 hit, 3 strike outs

Jaguars play on Thursday at 2 pm against the #4 Seed Houston Falcons
