Sand Springs 3 NOAH 1 - March 29th

NOAH Jaguars vs. Sand Springs Sandites
March 29th
 
6A #15 Sand Springs beat the Jags 3-1 on a beautiful sunny 70 degree afternoon. The Sandites scored first in the 1st after 3 Jag errors. The Jaguars answered with one run in the bottom of the 1st. Andrew Smith lead off the game with a single then scored on Joe Sabatini's double. The Sandites got another run with the help of 2 more Jag errors in the 2nd inning. The third inning shortstop Jebadiah Penrod shut down their threat with a nice double play then Sam Brownwood struck out the next batter. In the bottom of the 3rd the Jags had the bases loaded but the Sandites recorded their own double play to end the inning. The Sandites scored one more run in the 4th inning.  Catcher Joe Sabatini cut down the Sandites threat by throwing out two Sandites trying to steal during the game.  

Pitcher Sam Brownwood had another great outing. He only allowed 4 singles in the game, 3 runs but only one earned. He walked 4 batters, hit one batter, and struck out 5 batters.

JV Jaguars beat the JV Sandites 8-2. Josh Ferguson pitched a complete game for the Jags.

The varsity will travel to Harrison, Arkansas to play in the Ozark Classic on Friday.  The Jags will play highly ranked Blue Eye, Missouri on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The JV will be playing in the Barnsdall Tournament at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

10U Jags Win Tournament - March 26th

The 10U Jaguars won the BAYB Randy Broyles Pre-Season Tournament on March 26th.  The Jags beat the BA Pirates in the first round 8-5.  In the semi-finals, the Jags beat the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs 11-4.  The Jags continued hitting the ball to beat the Pirates in the Championship game 6-2.  The Jags will open season play on Monday at Indian Springs.

Great Job Boys!  Go JAGS!

NOAH Jaguars vs Chelsea Dragons

NOAH Jaguars beat Chelsea Green Dragons 7-3 to win the Chelsea Woodbat Tournament!

The Dragons took the lead in the bottom of the first going up 2-0.  With one out the next two batters were walked then advanced on a passed ball and then both scored on Jag errors. The Jags answered with one run in the 2nd inning. Erik Willis hit a single then scored on Ryan Blake's infield hit. The Jags exploded for 5 runs in the 3rd inning. Andrew Smith led off with a bunt single. John Tyree followed with a single. Both scored after a throwing error by the Dragon's pitcher. Jebadiah Penrod reached on a walk, then stole two bases and scored when Caleb Baca reached on an error. Erik Willis followed with his 2nd single of the day, stole 2nd base, then both Baca and Willis scored on Ryan Blake's 2 out single giving the Jags a 6-2 lead over the Dragons. In the top of the 6th John Tyree reached on an error then scored on Jebadiah Penrod's RBI double. All was quiet on the Dragons side until the 7th. The lead off batter reached on a single then scored when a Dragon teammate hit a double but that was all they could manage. THE JAGS WON THE TOURNAMENT!!!

Starting NOAH Pitcher Andrew Smith recorded the win. He allowed 2 runs, both unearned, no hits, 2 walks and 4 strike outs.  Cole Wilson pitched great in relief allowing 1 run, 2 hits, 2 hit batsmen, 4 strikeouts and also recording the save.

ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM - Sam Brownwood ( pitching a complete no hit shutout in game 2 with 11 strikeouts, plus going 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs) Andrew Smith (pitched & won two games recording 10 strikeouts, 4 for 10 with one double, 2 RBIs, and 4 stolen bases)


With the win, the Jags improve to 8-6.  Jaguars will take on 6A Sand Springs on Monday for their home opener at LaFortune Park.  Varsity first pitch is 4:30 with JV game to follow.  ALL NOAH families will be admitted for free!

Jag Day - Home Opener - March 29th

JAG DAY!

The home opener is scheduled for Monday, March 29th at LaFortune Park against 6A #15 Sand Springs Sandites. Varsity first pitch is 4:30 with the JV game to follow.

All NOAH players and families are admitted free.  Players need to wear their jerseys!

Concessions will be available.

NOAH Jaguars vs Foyil Panthers
 
NOAH beats 2A Foyil 10-2 in the first round of the Chelsea Woodbat Tournament. The Panthers started out on top after scoring one run in the top of the 1st. The Jags answered with one run in the bottom of the first. A double play in the 2nd inning and a strikeout kept the Panthers from scoring in the 2nd inning. The Jags scored two runs in the 2nd. Erik Willis reached on a single, Cole Wilson was hit by a pitch then both scored on Andrew Smith's double. In the 3rd the Jags added 3 more runs. Ben Beaver reached on a walk then John Tyree singled. Erik Willis hit an RBI double then he scored on Cole Wilson's single giving the Jags a 6-1 lead. The Panthers scored a run in the 4th but the Jags answered with four more runs in the bottom of the fourth after two singles, two walks and two more hit batters. Erik Willis went 2 for 3 on the day including his RBI double.

Starting pitcher Andrew Smith went four innings allowing two runs (1 earned), 3 hits, 3 walks and 6 strike outs. Cole Wilson relieved shutting them down in order.



GAME TWO - Semi-finals

NOAH Jaguars vs Nowata Ironmen

Our second game of the tournament was against 3A Nowata Ironmen. The Jags scored one run in the 2nd after Sam Brownwood's RBI double. They added one more in the 3rd after Joe Sabatini lead off the inning with a double and scored on a passed ball. All was quiet on the Ironmen's side as Sam Brownwood put on a pitching showcase. Only 2 batters reached base: one on a dropped third strike and one on an error.  In the top of the 5th the Jags offense broke lose and scored 9 runs after 5 walks, one hit batter, an error, and 3 singles by the Jaguars.  Sam Brownwood helped his team out offensively as well as defensively. He was 2 for three on the night with an RBI single and an RBI double. Andrew Smith and John Tyree had two hits apiece in the game. Jeb Penrod and John Tyree had 2 RBIs apiece as well. The Jaguars placed themselves in the championship game scheduled for Saturday at 3 pm (weather pending).

Starter Sam Brownwood pitched an incredible game! He pitched the complete 5 inning game (run rule applied after the Jags were leading by 8 or more runs after 5 innings). He pitched a shutout, no hits, walked one batter and recorded 11 strikeouts!

The Jags record is now 7-6.

JV Diamond Jags Win Streak Reaches Four

The JV baseball team swept Edison JV on Friday, March 19th for their fourth win in a row.

The Jags won the first game 11-2 behind the pitching of Wes Shaffer and David Dawson.  Ben Beaver pitched the second game for a 3-1 win.

The JV record is now 5-3,  The JV will play a doubleheader against Kansas City Pembroke Hill JV on Monday, March 22nd at Metro Christian Field.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:30.

The JV will also play in Depew's Darrell Fairchild Memorial Tournament.  The first game will be on March 25th at 2:00 p.m. vs Kiefer.

Collinsville Tournament - Pool Play Games - March 17th & 18th

NOAH  Jaguars vs Owasso Rams

March 17th


The undefeated and defending 6A champions Rams pitched a 2 hit shut-out (singles by Erik Willis and Josh Ferguson). The Rams scored 7 runs in the 2nd inning and added 1 in the 3rd and two in the 4th. The game ended 10-0.

Starter John Tyree pitched two innings allowing 7 earned runs, 7 hits, and 3 walks. Andrew Smith relieved for 3 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned), 3 hits, 3walks. And one strike out.

NOAH Jaguars vs Bishop Kelley Comets

March 17

The second game of the day was against 5A #5 Bishop Kelley. In the 1st inning Andrew Smith reached base on a double (his first of two doubles for the day) and then scored on Sam Brownwood's rbi single. The Comets answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the first after 2 errors, 2 walks and a triple. The Jags threatened a few times but it wasn't until the top of the 7th before they added more runs. Erik Willis reached on a single and scored on Joe Sabatini's 2 run HOMER tying the score. That was the Jags first homer of the year and sent the game into extra innings. The Jags held the Comets scoreless in the bottom of the 7th, 8th, and 9th. In the top of the 10th Andrew Smith reached on a walk and was advanced around to 3rd and then scored the go ahead run on a beautiful rbi single by Ben Beaver. The Jags were on top 4-3. The Comets came up to bat bunting - 3 bunts in a row loading the bases and then the winning runs were walked in to give the Comets the game 5-4 after 2 and 3/4 hours of cold baseball!

Sam Brownwood was the Jaguar starter pitching 4 innings, 3 runs, 2 hits, 2 walks and 1 strikeout. Freshman pitcher Josh Ferguson relieved and pitched beautifully for 5 innings. He allowed 2 runs, 5 hits and hit one batter. Andrew Smith finished the game walking 2 batters.

NOAH Jaguars vs. Jay Bulldogs

March 18th

On a much warmer and nicer day for baseball the Jaguars faced the 4A #9 Jay Bulldogs in their third game of the Collinsville tournament. For the third game in a row the Jags recorded runs in their first at bats. Joe Sabatini hit a two out double then advanced to third on Jebadiah Penrod's single. Both came in to score on Sam Brownwood's 2 rbi single giving them a 2-0 lead over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs answered with 5 runs on a single, 2 doubles, 2 walks and a hit batsman in the bottom of the 2nd. Then the Bulldogs added another run in the 3rd. The Jags threatened in the 2nd and 3rd but didn't score any more runs until the 4th. Ben Beaver had a single, followed by a walk of Erik Willis and then both scored on Andrew Smith's 2 rbi double giving the Jags 4 runs pulling within two of the Bulldogs. Unfortunately the Bulldogs added 2 more runs in their half of the inning after 4 hits and one walk. The Jags added one more run after Jeb Penrod singled and scored on Ben's second single of the day. The Bulldogs answered with two runs in the 5th. The Jags loaded the bases with one out but couldn't push across a run. In the 6th inning the Bulldogs added 3 more runs on 2 singles, a double and a walk to bring their score to 13 and an 8 run lead over the Jags to end the game with a final score of 13-5.

Andrew Smith started but left in the 2nd inning. He had 4 earned runs, 2 hits including one double, 4 walks, 1 hit batter, and 4 strike outs. Joe Sabatini relieved allowing 9 runs (8 earned), 11 hits including 3 doubles, 3 walks and 2 strike outs.


Jags will play for 7th place on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Locust Grove 10 NOAH 8 - March 16th

NOAH Jags vs Locust Grove Pirates


The Jaguars battled with the Pirates in their beautiful ballpark but in the end the Pirates were on top. The Jags scored with one run in the first but the Pirates answered with 3 in the bottom of the first. The Jags added another run in the second inning, scoreless in the 3rd but the Pirates added 3 more runs in their half of the 3rd. In the 4th the Jags had 4 singles and were able to get 3 more runs but again the Pirates added another run and the score was 7-5 in favor of the Pirates. In each of the following innings the Jags added one more run but the Pirates kept adding to their run total as well and won the game 10-8 over the Jaguars. Sam Brownwood was 3 for 4 at the plate and John Tyree and Ben Beaver each had two hits a piece. Joe Sabatini and Josh Ferguson had 2 rbi's a piece.

John Tyree was the starting pitcher allowing 3 runs, 3 hits, 2 walks, hit by pitch and 1 strikeout. Sam Brownwood relieve for 2 innings allowing 4 runs, one hit batter, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Cole Wilson finished off the last 2 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 hits, and one walk.

NOAH 11 Webster 1 - March 15th

NOAH Jaguars vs. Webster Warriors


March 15

The Jaguars played at Reed Park tonight against the Webster Warriors. This was a make up game from the game last week when the field was too wet to play baseball. The Jaguars came out swinging in the first inning and went on top 6-0. Joe Sabatini was back in uniform for the Jaguars and lead off with a walk, stole 2nd, then scored on Jeb Penrod's rbi double. Cole Wilson put down a sacrifice bunt but was safe at first on an error. Andrew Smith followed with an rbi double scoring Cole. Ben Beaver reached after being hit by a pitch then later scored on a passed ball. John Bartlett hit a single and later scored on Sam Brownwood's rbi single. In the 2nd inning Erik Willis lead off with a single (going 2 for 3 on the night). Ben Beaver again was hit by a pitch. Josh Ferguson hit a single scoring both runners on base. In the 3rd John Tyree reached after being hit by a pitch and scored on Andrew Smith's 2nd rbi double of the night. Then Andrew was able to score after Erik Willis hit another single. In the 4th Sam Brownwood also reached after being hit by a pitch then scored on Jeb Penrod's 2nd rbi double of the night. That put the Jags up 11-1 and the game was called according to the run rule in the bottom of the 4th.

Andrew Smith was the starting pitcher and Ben Beaver came in for relief. Andrew didn't give up a hit, walked one batter and struck out two. Ben pitched 3 solid innings, allowing 2 singles, one unearned run, and had 5 strike outs.

The JV won 4-1.

High School Baseball - Schedule Update - March 10th

The Jags will not be playing this week in the Sperry Tournament.


Tuesday's March 9th  game against Webster is rescheduled for Monday, March 15th.  The Jags will play at Webster's Reed Park on Union and West 41st.  Varsity first pitch is 5:30 p.m. followed by JV.

Jags travel to play at 4A Locust Grove on Tuesday, March 16th at 4:30 p.m. followed by JV.

The Jags will be playing in the Collinsville Tournament on March 17th, 18th and 20th. The Jags open pool play games on March 17th against 6A #1 Owasso at 1:30 and 5A #5 Bishop Kelley at 4:00 p.m.  The final game of pool play will be on Thursday, March 18th against 4A #9 Jay at 11:00 a.m.  Championship round will be on Saturday.

NOAH 13 Mounds 0 - March 4th

March 4, 2010

Jags improve record to 4-2 with a 13-0 win over Mounds. On a beautiful night for baseball, the Jaguars came out swinging their bats. Every Jaguar starter had either a hit, an RBI, or scored a run. The Jaguars had 11 hits, all singles, and scored 13 runs and 10 stolen bases. Cole Wilson scored 3 times with 2 singles, 4 stolen bases, and 2 RBIs. John Tyree was 2 for 2, 2 stolen bases, 2 walks, scoring twice, and 1 RBI. Andrew Smith was 2 for 3 with 2 stolen bases and 3 RBIs. Erik Willis was 2 for 3 with 2 stolen bases and one RBI. Ben Beaver was also 2 for 3 and scored 3 times and had one RBI. The Jaguars had their first game of the year without an error. The Eagles struggled and committed 7 errors over 5 innings of play.

Starting pitcher Andrew Smith pitched two innings and recorded the win. He allowed one single, walked one batter and struck out 4 Eagles. Cole Wilson closed out the final 3 innings with one single and 3 strike outs.

In the nightcap, the JV Jags won a close game 2-1 over the Mounds JV. The Jags play against Okay, OK tomorrow night in Okay (past Wagoner near Ft. Gibson Lake).

Sand Springs 10 NOAH 0 - March 1

March 1st
NOAH Jags vs Sand Springs

The Jags played at 6A Sand Springs on a very chilly night.  The Sandites blanked the Jaguars and held them hitless. The Sandites scored 5 runs in the first on 3 walks and 2 singles. They added another run on 2 hits in the 3rd. In the 4th they added 3 more runs with 2 hits, a wild pitch and and a passed ball.  They added the final run in the bottom of the 6th and run ruled the Jags 10-0.

Starter John Tyree took the loss. Sam Brownwood relieved for 2 1/3 innings.

In the nightcap, the NOAH JV lost 10-7 to the Sand Springs JV. The Jags scored first with one run in the first, but then were down 10-1. They came back and scored 5 runs in the 4th and then another one in the 5th to make it 10-7. Good job of fighting and hanging in there Jags!!
