12U Jags win Skiatook Wood Bat Tournament

The 12U Jags won the Skiatook 12U Wood Bat Tournament over the May 22nd weekend.  The Jags beat the Skiatook Thunderstix 12-4 in the first game.  Being down 4-0, the Jags scored 12 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning highlighted by a 3-run homerun over the fence by Matt Merrill.  The Jags beat the Bartlesville Tornadoes in the second game 8-4 behind the pitching of Nathaniel Moss and Will Grantham.  The Jags jumped on the Pawhuska Titans 16-1 for a shot in the championship game. Evan Jacoby started the game with a double to centerfield.  Keaton McDaniel, Jono Harrington, Austin Lilly, Nano Moss and Matt Merrill all had 2 hits a piece. 

In the championship game, the Jags played their best defensive game of the year.  The Jags made 15 of the 18 outs by defensive plays.  2B Nathaniel Moss and 3B Matt Merrill had some web gems in the field. Both teams played fundamental baseball in the field. Logan Stolz had 2 hits including a well placed bunt down the 3rd base line. Will Grantham went 3 for 3 in the game. Ben Replogle pitched a complete game, striking out 2, walking 2 and 1 HBP and gave up on 2 hits as the Jags beat the Owasso Longhorns 6-1 to capture the Championship.  The 12U Jags improved their record to 17-7-1 on the season.
