14U Jags place 5th at World Series




14U Jaguars:

The 14U Jaguars competed in the USSSA 14U AA World Series in Broken Arrow, OK during the week of July 7-11. The events started off with the team skills competition on Saturday night.  The Jaguars were well represented.  Team members Pat Castleberry, Cody Dillingham, Evan Jacoby, Austin Lilly, Matt Merrill and Ben Replogle won the Around the Horn competition by completing their throws in 10.07 seconds.  The base relay team of Coleton Davis, Josiah Lynn, Caleb Raper and Logan Stolz finished in 3rd place with a time of 16.5 seconds.  Will Grantham, Brady Heaps and Daniel O'Connor competed in the Player's HR Derby.  Randy Jacoby and Shane Davis competed in the Dad's HR Derby.  Terri Jacoby and Angie Davis competed in the Mom's HR Derby. Broken Arrow Baseball Association did a good job with the events and the catered in Rib Crib BBQ.

The Jags finished their pool play schedule with 2 ties. On Monday, they opened bracket play by beating the Claremore Express 10-7.  Jags lost the second round to the Warner Storm 11-2 which put them into the loser's bracket which meant they had to win six games to get to the finals.  On Tuesday,  Jags beat the OKC Bulldogs 4-3 in 7 innings in the 8 a.m. game.  Then beat the Broken Arrow Pirates 10-2.  Logan Stolz threw a no-hitter as the Jags run-ruled the Claremore Express 15-0 in the third game of the day which set up a show down with the Broken Arrow Venom (Ok State Champ) in the 8 p.m. game.  It was pitcher's duel through five innings as the Venom held onto a 1-0 lead.  Venom added 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to win the game 4-0 eliminating the Jags from the tournament.  The Jags finished the tournament with a 4 wins 2 losses and 2 ties for a 5th place finish.  Overall, we played good baseball.


The 14U team finished the season with 21 wins 20 losses and 4 ties.  Go Jags!
